Has anyone in the group taken the motor design class given by CP Technologies out in Casper, Wyoming? I have thought for a couple of years that it would make for a nice rocketry related vacation, but since I don't fly, it would be a train trip to Denver and then a rental car drive to Casper. Before I think about investing the time and money, was wondering if it was worth the effort.

You should also invest in something solid to stand behind when you fire your motor. They use PVC for the motor casing. PVC makes great shrapnel when it shatters. Other than that I've heard that the class is pretty good.

He said that he would be renting a car, so he'd be all set.

Thanks for The Dark Side Group course info. That looks like a more accessible course, although I do love to ride the train. It looks like they give the course periodically at different launches. Will look in to it. Maybe next year if they give it again.

From the pictures I have seen of the CP class, it looks like they fire from a block house structure, so if I do that I might not need the coverage on the rental, keeping the costs down a bit ;)
