 We had reasonably good weather for our first launch of the season. It was warm with light winds in the morning but it did get cooler and windier in the afternoon. The flight count for the day was 273 which was surprisingly low considering the number of people and the speed the hot dogs sold out. Motor sizes ranged from 1/8A to J. The hit of the day was Boris Katan’s Toginator flying on enough D motors to make an I equivalent. There are photos here , here , and here . And here .

Congrats to the TARC Finalist from CMASS |
 The finalists for TARC 2008 have just been announced.
Dublin Christian Academy, Team Number 6111 from Dublin, NH and Weare Middle School (Team 1), Team Number 6072. from Weare, NH made the list. Congratulations. Making the TARC finals is a bit more difficult for the New England teams because of our winters, but these teams practiced under some adverse conditions and worked very hard to calibrate their rockets and make repeatable flights. Over 16 teams came to fly with CMASS and while most didn't finish in the top 100, they all worked hard and gave it a good shot. Some teams were a bit unlucky, having flights with good times but cracking an egg, or jhad several really good practice flight and has a problem on their qualification attempt. Teams competing for a second time showed marked improvements from their first years attempts. Hopefully TARC will continue and everyone will come back next year. |
