Harborfreight Tools store has opened in Danvers

For folks who like cheap tools, Harborfreight Tools has opened a new store on Rt 1 South in Danvers just south of Rt 114 at the location of the OOB Circuit City.

The official opening is sometime next week, but the store actually opened on 1 February.

They must be breeding like rabbits. They opened a store in Amherst, NH a couple of months ago. With my appreciation for fine cheap tools, I have made more than a couple of stops there.

My son has been checking their website every day this week to see when they were going to open. He must have missed it today because instead of \"coming soon\" it says \"now open\".

For those of you who aren\'t familiar with Harbor Freight, their tools are very inexpensive and pretty solid. You can\'t beat them for casual use. They\'re not quite as elegant as name brand tools but they\'re hard to kill.

The tool is actually sold as a root chopper, but is makes short work of removing ice from stone stairs and asphalt. $17.99 plus tax but worth it. Deiced the stairs, walkway and driveway in about 1/2 hour.

Just got the email from HF about the official grand opening this coming Friday, 11 Feb.

Nothing about any specials beyond the 10 or so coupons in the email. Definitely a stopping point on the way to the next, cookie-less meeting at Bill\'s.
