Now that it has been officially announced, URRF3 has morphed into LDRS 34. a 5 day celebration of high power rocketry to be sponsored by the Upstate Research Rocketry Group at Torrey Farms in Potter, NY.
Set aside June 26-30, 2015 on you calendar now, so you won't miss the biggest rocketry event in the East next year. Waiver to 15 kft agl, with call ins to 25 kft. Total impulse to P+! All 5 days under TRA Research rules so both certified and research motors can be used. (TRA L2 or higher required for Research motors.)
Our cropless launch field covers more that 50 acres of the 8,000 acre farm. At this time of year the crops on the farm are less than 1' tall so recovery is easy. The 4 independent launch ranges include 24 modroc pads, 24 L1, L2 pads, 6 M pads, and 4 power towers for BFRs so there aren't long waits for launching.
The event is located in the Finger Lakes region of central NY. This is farm and wine country. The host hotel (we got a very good rate because we booked it May 1, 2014 and guaranteed 125 rooms) is located in Geneva, NY on Seneca Lake, the largest of the Finger Lakes, and there's lots of stuff for your family to do if they don't want to go to the launch. Geneva is located about 1/2 hour from the field. For those who want to stay closer, there's Penn Yen (10 minutes) and several camp ground within 5 minutes of the field.
