Night launch requirements was created by guyw
Are there any extra requirements for a rocket over and above the normal daytime launch requirements to participate in a CMASS night launch?

Guy,

Have a look at this thread from a year ago:

We lost lots of rockets to drift. Depending on your light source, you may not be able to track your recovery if the rocket gets too far away.

Kenn,

Thanks for that. I am working on a design that will have ten high output white LEDs in a transparent nose cone. Thinking of putting mylar on the circuit board to reflect as much light as possible. I think I will call it the Nite Flite.

Guy,

Sounds good. As a suggestion, try and put some light source on the body as well. We\'ve seen separation where the lighted nose can be found but not the boost section.

My one night flier - the x Ape - only has light in the upper section, nothing on the lower. So far the Kevlar has kept them together.

Do as I say, not as I do. (Not having any kids, I don\'t get to make that unreasonable statement very often.)
