What Happened to the C11-5 Engine?

Fortunately there are still youth groups like Scouts and college teams that appreciate rocketry

It was nice to see all those kids at the last launch.

Now that the C11-5 is kuput I am thinking about trying the new Qjet C12-4. Has anyone tried these new engines? Does anyone know anything about them? BelleVille Hobby has them at a decent price. You have to buy a few to make it worth it given the shipping costs. We would want to get a few extra starters too.

Well I was with the S&T group when they were tested. They seem ok (there were mach diamonds in the exhaust). The only thing that I thought was peculiar was that the motor casing was really soft after firing... but you probably won't get your rocket back soon enough to notice.

CMASS is done for the year and it looks like RIMRA is also shutting it down until spring. I'll wait until the 2019 season before buying some of the Q-Jets.

Sirius just got some Q-Jets in. I needed a few items for my Saab project so I ended up getting two packs of C12-4's. They are 18mm so I will have to use the Estes 18 to 24 mm adapter.
