This race will be happening on Aug. 30, during the MMMSC, berwick launch. Rules are keeping your rocket in one piece, and highest flight, with out breaking the waiver, (10,000 foot)

The idea of a drag race/altitude competition is a cool one. Thanks for proposing it.

It reminded me that I have a 38mm minimum diameter rocket that I have been meaning to upgrade to dual deploy for some time now.

I can't make it to the 8/30/14 launch. Family commitments, including helping at a food bank.

>> How about using 38mm 3grain I345 White Thunder motors instead of Vmax?

The benefits of the WT motor are:
> Slightly more predicted altitude with a smaller (3gr vs. 4gr) motor.
> Half the peak acceleration (50G vs. 100G) keeping max accel within rated capabilities (70G) of my Raven.

That is a good idea. I will see what I can do. I know I plan on a skid drag race at the end if mmmsc launches. Down in december.
