The launch was on Sunday instead of the normal and the winds were moderate and blowing toward Lion's Mouth Road in the morning and then directly toward the power lines in the afternoon, which meant no HPR. Both, I'm sure limited the number of people attending. But we still had XXXX flights and it was still a great day. The motor range was 13mm A through G. There were at least six CATO's by my count, for all types of motors - 13mm to 24mm black powder and ammonium perchlorate as well. That was a lot considering none were from the Estes bad code 24mm motors, and at least two of those were flown! It was also a day of competition. Stephen Maire and Mike Sherrod had a total of eleven NRC flights, and Stephen hosted an NRC workshop in the afternoon. There was at least one rocket that landed in the trees, very high up. But I did not see it at the end of the day, so hopefully it was recovered. I put up a three-stage Thing-a-ma-jig (C11-0, B6-0, A8-3) that actually flew pretty well and I was able to recover all of the stages.
Thanks to Kenn, Guy, Bruce, Matt, Linda, Jim, John P., and everyone else who helped out with food, set up and take down. Pictures are in the Gallery. Please post yours.
Our next launch in Amesbury is Oct 19th, the penultimate launch for the season.
